Councillor supports Kids Scanner Appeal

Rotherham Councillor, Mahroof Hussain who is Chair of the Rotherham Mosque Liaison Group is supporting Rotherham Mosques in their Friday Fundraiser appeal on 19th March for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital kids CT Scanner Appeal.

The current CT scanner is used more than 1600 times a year and is now over seven years old. It shows bones, blood, blood vessels and soft tissue in the body.

Councillor Hussain said ‘A CT scanner can make a huge difference to the care provided to young children. A new scanner will provide better diagnosis and treatment for patients which could make the difference between life and death for many children”.

"The initiative by local mosques is a great way of demonstrating how local communities can unite to support local public services and the future care of all the children who use the hospital."

Mosques across South Yorkshire will be wearing CT scanner T-shirts in Sheffield City Centre on the 20th March to collect funds for the CT scanner.
